ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Today, the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) and United Brotherhood of Carpenters announced their endorsements of the Morse for Congress campaign. Joining her recent support from the California Teachers Association (CTA), Morse continues to lead the 4th Congressional District race in labor endorsements heading into the final stretch of the June primary.
"It is an honor to receive support from the thousands of men and women who build, maintain, and operate the infrastructure that keeps our state running," said Morse. "In Congress, I promise to be a relentless fighter for the working families who know that an organized workforce is what makes our nation competitive and strong."
"We're supporting Jessica Morse because of her unequivocal commitment to a vibrant economy that supports all Americans – not just those at the top," said Richard Johnsen with the ATU. "She will work and fight for us in Washington."
The ATU covers workers in the transportation field, including school bus drivers, public transportation operators, and paratransit employees, while the California Carpenters cover a wide range of skills in the carpentry trade, including woodworkers, floor coverers, millworkers, and lathers.
The endorsements come on the heels of Morse's continued fundraising success, as she outraised each person in the 4th Congressional District race in last week's pre-primary filing. She also received the California Democratic Party's official endorsement at the spring convention with 65% of the delegates' votes.
